Michele in her kitchen

Hi, I'm Michele!

I cook in what most people would call the foyer.

My kitchen is tiny. My appetite is not. Big Bites Tiny Kitchen started as a way to preserve my family's recipes and traditions. It grew into a mission to convince you that cooking at home is worth it. And to show you it's possible. All it takes are good ingredients, simple technique and the willingness to spend a little time getting to know your kitchen.

Every recipe here comes with a Cooking School sidebar because I believe everyone can cook. And with a little practice, you can cook well. When you understand the technique, you stop following recipes to the letter and start trusting yourself.

But this site isn't only about what happens in our kitchens. It's also a glimpse into the kitchens of some of the best restaurants in New York. From dive bar to Michelin star, I want to share it all with you.

I share the conversations that keep us around the table: how food holds memory, carries love and connects us to the people and places that shaped us.

On Every Table

I write about food from a place of abundance, and I know that. Not everyone has a full table. For too many people, food isn't comfort. It's a daily struggle. That's never far from my mind. These organizations are working to change that, and I'm proud to support them.
